Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting Steps
General Steps
- Have you tried with other modules disabled? (If not, please try disabling them - the "Find the culprit" module can help turn these on and off for you). Other modules can interact in very unexpected ways.
- If using the Foundry client, please try using a browser.
- Have you tried disabling any ad blockers in your browser?
Getting Discord Support
There is a Support and Priority Support (for Patreon supporters) on the discord. This is the best place to get support.
Before you request support please gather the following information, it will help narrow down the issue and allow it to be reproduced.
-
Foundry Version (e.g. 12 build 331)
-
System Version (e.g. D&D 4.0.3)
-
Module Version (e.g. ddb-importer v6.0.11)
-
Try to replicate the error with no other modules enabled, and use Find the Culprit to identify the minimum number of modules needed to replicate the issue.
-
You have tried importing the content into a brand new world, with just DDB Importer enabled.
-
Checked the FAQ and the 2024/D&D 4.x FAQ?
-
Get screenshots of the error message, and also the developer console message (Press the F12 function key/CTRL+Shift+ I to open the console, select Console and screen shot the error message.)
-
A good description of the problem and the impact to you/your game.
Importing a character?
- Include a DDB character link that is publicly accessible.
- Try a new actor in the world (with other modules disabled).
Generate a debug file
- Run the importer till it halts or gets an error. Open the Help section of the importer or muncher and open the DDB Importer Debug tool, download a debug file and upload it with your issue on Discord.
