Familiars
When Familiars is ticked, Pathmuncher creates each of the character's familiars as its own Familiar actor, after the character itself has been imported.
Where they go
Familiars are put in a Familiars actor folder. Pathmuncher creates the folder if it is not there yet, so the user importing needs permission to create folders.
Each familiar is named from Pathbuilder: the name you gave it, or "Character's Familiar" if it has none.
What they get

- A link to their master, the character being imported, so the familiar's statistics follow the master's level and key attribute.
- Their familiar abilities, from the system's familiar abilities compendium.
Some familiar abilities change the master too, such as Extra Reagents. These are also added to the master, unless the master already has them.
Importing again
When you import the character again, Pathmuncher finds its familiar by name and master, and updates that actor rather than creating another. All of the familiar's items are replaced with the abilities from the new build.
If you rename the familiar in Pathbuilder, a new familiar actor is created; delete the old one by hand.
Animal companions
Animal companions and eidolons are covered in Animal Companions and Eidolons.
